Full Mouth Dental Implants

What Are Full Mouth Dental Implants?

Full mouth dental implants are also called all-on-4 dental implants, denture implants, or permanent dentures. Full mouth dental implants replace an entire row or both rows of teeth. Four to eight dental implants are placed below the gum line depending on your overall oral health, gums, and bone density. Once healed, an entire row of permanent teeth is attached to the implants. Gone are the days of difficult eating with dentures. Full mouth dental implants look and feel extremely natural, making them the superior option for replacing teeth.

If you think you’d be a good candidate for dental implants, please refer to Harriman Family Dental’s Implant Center, our practice for all things implant dentistry and cosmetic restorations. Our 3-Step Full Mouth Dental Implant Process

Step 1: Speak With Our World-Class Doctors

Call our office at 845-783-6466 to set up your consultation. At your appointment, you will speak with our doctors to ensure you’re a good candidate for full mouth implants. We will guide you through the entire surgical process, and answer any questions you may have about your full mouth restoration.

At Harriman Family Dental, we understand that no two patients are the same, especially when it comes to the fitting and placement of full mouth dental implants. We will take X-rays and impressions of your teeth and mouth to ensure your new teeth fit—and look—perfect.

Step 2: Your Personalized Dental Implant Surgery

After your consultation, the next step of the implant process is the surgical placement of the implant posts and attachment of the temporary restoration (replacement teeth). Our specialized implant team uses guided surgery for all implant procedures, allowing us to create the most accurate, precise, comfortably-fitting restoration possible.

You will walk our of our office with brand new temporary, fully functional teeth on the same day of your surgery. You will not be without teeth while waiting for your permanent teeth to arrive. Depending on the oral needs of each patient, we use either polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) or acrylic for the placement of the temporary restoration. If you have any questions about the consultation and/or surgical process for full arch dental restorations, don’t hesitate to give us a call and speak with one of our implant specialists today.

Step 3: Placement Of The Final Prosthesis

Over the following several weeks, your implant post will begin to heal and permanently fuse with the jawbone. This period of healing is very important. If we don’t give an adequate amount of time for your gums and bone to heal, the implants won’t be able to provide a solid base for your new teeth.

Once healed, you’re ready for the placement of your final full arch, which we fabricate from either state-of-the-art acrylic or cutting-edge zirconia material.

Placement of the final prosthesis is a simple outpatient procedure: you will come in, have your temporary restoration removed, and be immediately be fitted with your final set of brand-new teeth!

We will also schedule follow-up appointments at this time, where we will check to see that adequate healing of the bone and soft tissue has taken place. Harriman Family Dental does not offer warranties on full mouth dental implants; however, as long as you come in for your follow-up appointments, you should enjoy decades of durable function with your new permanent restorations.

Are Full Mouth Dental Implants Painful?

At Harriman Dental, IV sedation is used during your procedure so you’re relaxed and feel no pain. It’s also common that you’ll have little to no memory of the procedure. After the procedure and once the numbness is gone, you may experience some discomfort and soreness. You may experience some aches and pain during the first week following the surgery, but we will prescribe pain medication to help you manage any pain.
